Regional editor-in-chief, ALM Media
George Haj is regional editor-in-chief for the ALM Group, which owns 33 national and regional magazines and newspapers specializing in business and legal news. Haj oversees papers in Miami and Atlanta, and the Texas Lawyer, a weekly out of Dallas.
Previously, he was senior editor of local news for the Houston Chronicle. He began his journalism career as an editor at Viewtron, one of the earliest experiments in online journalism and communications. Haj later worked for Florida Today and the Miami Herald, where he was an assistant city editor, state editor and executive business editor. He is on the board of the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Association, served twice as a Pulitzer Prize juror. Haj was a JSK Fellow in 1999-2000.
