Pam Maples is one of two managing directors who helps lead the JSK program. She previously was JSK’s first innovation director, helping lead its transformation from a sabbatical model to a fellowship that is actively working on the biggest challenges facing journalism. Before joining JSK, Maples was managing editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch/STLToday.com, where she led the staff to national recognition for digital storytelling. She also was vice president of editorial at Newsy, a video news startup. She previously worked for several years at The Dallas Morning News in various leadership roles, including as editor of investigations, her first and enduring journalistic love. Maples began her career as a beat reporter covering courts, local and state government and politics for newspapers in Missouri, New Mexico and Colorado. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She is a longtime member of several professional organizations and a past board member of the Journalism and Women Symposium. She was a JSK Fellow in 2005-06.
