Alumni initiatives
What happens after the fellowship year matters just as much as the year itself. The JSK Alumni Initiatives exist to keep former fellows connected to each other, plugged into new opportunities, and part of a network that understands the work.
Here are a few of the ways that’s happening now:
Newsletter
Good things are happening and JSK Connect makes sure you hear about them. Our newsletter covers what's new across the fellowship and alumni community, and makes a point of celebrating the work former fellows are doing out in the world. If you're an alum and it's not showing up in your inbox, reach out to jskalumni@stanford.edu and we’ll fix that.
Panels and workshops
Our alums are spread across the globe. JSK Connect events bring them together through regular Zoom calls where they reconnect and stay current and for expert workshops designed to help sharpen skills and open new doors.
Conference support
JSK Ambassadors represent the program at journalism and media conferences our staff can’t attend. Selected alums receive support to attend in an official capacity. Visit the Ambassador FAQ to learn more and email jskalumni@stanford.edu for an application.
Reunions
Every four years, JSK alums return to the Farm with their family members for a weekend of connection, reflection and inspiration. The reunion brings together generations of fellows to exchange ideas, share their work and engage in conversations about the future of journalism. It’s one of the few times our global community comes together in one place, where old friendships pick right back up, and new ones form just as quickly.
