Alyona Nevmerzhytska

Alyona Nevmerzhytska is the chief executive officer of hromadske, one of Ukraine’s leading independent online media platforms. She began her career in media in 2012 at the English-language outlet Kyiv Post and has since developed a strong focus on business development and organizational strategy.

At hromadske, Nevmerzhytska works on strengthening operational efficiency and audience engagement, including exploring the thoughtful use of new technologies to support newsroom workflows and decision making. Known for her strategic vision, she is focused on building sustainable models for independent media in challenging environments.

Her priority is to ensure the newsroom operates according to the highest ethical and professional standards, while also advancing media literacy and promoting democratic values in Ukrainian society. She is a graduate of the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga’s Media Management Program, an Atlantic Council Millennium Leadership Fellow, a McCain Institute Global Leader (2024), and a 2025 summer fellow at Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL).
