Djordje Padejski is associate director of the John S. Knight (JSK) Journalism Fellowships at Stanford University. Djordje leads alumni strategy, advises fellows, and helps with the selection of international fellows. He advances efforts to strengthen the alumni network and builds collaborations across campus — including with The Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI) and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies — to connect journalism practice with research and innovation.
As a lecturer in Stanford’s Graduate Journalism Program, Djordje teaches Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Journalism, a curriculum that explores how AI is disrupting journalism. He is also a doctoral candidate in journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, where his research explores how AI is transforming journalism and media ecosystems.
Previously, Djordje worked as an investigative journalist and editor with several news organizations including the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and The Center for Investigative Journalism in Serbia, which he founded and directed. He also developed journalism tools such as FOIA Machine, which he conceptualized during his 2012 JSK Fellowship.
He earned degrees in world literature and theory of literature from the University of Belgrade.
