Sage Van Wing

Sage Van Wing is the executive editor of talk and podcasts for Oregon Public Broadcasting. They coordinate all audio storytelling across the content department, including what airs on the radio, weekly podcasts and the daily live talk show. 

Van Wing helped to initiate OPB’s move into podcasting, creating its first dedicated podcast team, including weekly shows and regular pop-up series. 

Prior to OPB, Van Wing produced daily news programs at other NPR affiliate stations, including Vermont Public Radio, KUOW in Seattle and KQED in San Francisco. They got into journalism by accident, after taking an internship producing a talk show for a local NPR affiliate because they wanted to learn skills they could use to help their small local community station create a volunteer-led news effort. 

Van Wing has edited stories, shows and podcasts that have won a Murrow, several Gracies, multiple SPJ awards and has been nominated for a Peabody.
